Summer Reading

Keavy’s summer reading program will take place on June 6, 8, 13, & 15 from 10:00-12:00. Students can come in and read and take AR tests that will count for the next school year. We will give away door prizes each day and have refreshments for the kids.  Please enter the building from the side door of the library no earlier than 10:00.

Laurel County Public Library

Students, if you attend the Laurel County Public Library this summer please tell them you are from Keavy Elementary. There will be a sign in sheet located in the children’s department for your name and school.  If you attend 5 different days during the summer you will get a reward when you return to school.  The library will send the sign in sheet to Keavy after schools begins.  The library also offers prizes after you have read a certain number of books during the summer.  Call and ask them about their summer reading schedule.  They usually have fun events going on such as crafts and story time to plays, and concerts.  Please take advantage of this wonderful resource.  It really encourages reading!  Remember to read 20 minutes every day.  You will not regret it!
