Engineering Students Learn About Torque and Power

Students in the Engineering Technology program at the Center for Innovation (CFI) are learning about torque and power and how important mathematical computations are to engineering design and manufacturing production.  Mrs. Chandra Lawson, engineering instructor at the CFI, is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) and provided a lecture and lab activity whereby students learned “what is torque and what is power”?  David Cummins, math instructor at the CFI, remarked that “precision calculations are essential to the engineering profession and advanced manufacturing technicians and utilizing the integrated academic and technical education model of instruction at the CFI provides students with contextualized learning that creates opportunities for students to apply learning concepts to their career pathway.”
