Students Learn Electrical Motor Control Operations

Students in the Industrial Technology (IMT) program at the Center for Innovation (CFI) are learning advanced manufacturing skills with the operation of the Amatrol motor control systems.  Mr. Gary Karr, IMT instructor at the CFI remarked, “students are learning the fundamental operations of motor control units that are found in manufacturing plants across the region.”  “Logic, reason, and critical thinking skills are essential in manufacturing and construction professions and our math classes are able to make those career connections which enhance student learning,” said Mr. Jackie Robinson, math instructor at the CFI.  “We are able to connect the math curriculum concepts to the technical studies at the CFI due to our integrated approach of delivering contextualized, project-based, and experiential learning activities,” noted Dr. James M. Davis, CFI Principal.
