CFI ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR STUDENT ENROLLMENT

Student recruitment for the programs of study at the Laurel County Schools Center for Innovation (CFI) for the 17-18 academic year has begun.  Students interested in participating in the programs at the CFI can visit with their high school guidance office for information, assistance and to pick up an application.

“We are very pleased to offer Career & Technical Education (CTE) programs and career pathways for students at the CFI,” said Dr. James M. Davis, Principal. The CFI offers five programs of study: Allied Health Science, Biomedical Science, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, and Media Arts Technology.  All programs at the CFI provide students with the education and training needed to earn early college credit through articulation course credit agreements, dual credit courses, and AP courses prior to high school graduation.  CFI students are eligible to earn industry recognized career-ready certifications prior to high school graduation.

The CFI serves Laurel County School District students from grades 10-12 and provides a curriculum of English, Mathematics, and Technical education courses. Students attend the CFI half-day and their respective home high school the other half-day five days per week for the entire academic year.  Interested students who attend South Laurel High School or North Laurel High School can pick up an application from their guidance office, discuss their intent to apply for admissions with their family, and then submit a completed application for admissions to their high school guidance office or directly to the CFI.

For more information about the programs of study at the CFI you can visit the school web page at http://www.laurel.kyschools.us/19/home.  If parents or community members would like to visit and learn more about the school or the programs of study they can schedule an appointment with Dr. Davis and the faculty of the Center for Innovation at 606-862-5580.
