INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY STUDENT EARNS COLLEGE CREDIT AND CAREER CERTIFICATION

Dhaigun Stogsdill, Industrial Technology (IMT) student at the Center for Innovation (CFI), is preparing for high school graduation and is college and career ready!  Dhaigun has achieved college-ready benchmarks on his academic assessments and has earned National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) certification as an Electrical Technician.  Mr. Gary Karr, IMT instructor, spoke with great pride about the achievements made by Dhaigun as he remarked about his strong work ethic in the classroom and in the lab.  Karr indicated that the technical education and training that students receive at the CFI is preparing them for diverse career pathways in advanced manufacturing and construction technology professions. “Dhaigun has the knowledge, skills, and abilities to be readily employable based upon the technical training received at the CFI and is career-ready,” said Karr.

“We are so pleased to announce that Dhaigun will graduate from high school with 37 college credits earned through established partnerships with postsecondary institutions,” said Dr. James M. Davis, CFI Principal.  “It is our primary objective to prepare our students to become college and career ready so that they can enjoy a bright future with numerous personal and professional achievements,” added Davis.  Dhaigun has been admitted to Southeast Kentucky Community & Technical College where he will continue his education to earn the Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree.  By having earned this tremendous number of early college credits Dhaigun will be able to earn his Associate degree within one year after high school graduation saving both tuition expenses and time to degree completion said Davis.
