Students in the Allied Health Science (AHS) and Biomedical Science (BMS) programs at the Laurel County Center for Innovation (CFI) are learning about the practice of chiropractic medicine from local physician Dr. Jonathan Oakley of Oakley Chiropractic Center located in London, Kentucky. “We enjoyed having Dr. Oakley visit with our students to share interesting information about chiropractic care”, said Mr. Ed Bowling, instructor of Health Science. Dr. Oakley remarked that he was “happy to have the opportunity to speak to our future health care leaders. My goal in speaking was for them to have a better understanding of what chiropractic is and how it makes a major contribution to the public's overall health”.
“Our programs of study are specifically designed to offer students training that will be relevant to a myriad of career pathways in the health sciences. Our primary mission is to provide the academic and technical training that will support students in realizing their goals while preparing them to achieve career and college readiness,” remarked, Dr. James Davis, CFI Principal. Additionally, Dr. Davis explained the CFI is utilizing diverse medical practitioners, college professors, and industry professionals to provide specially designed presentations to enhance the classroom learning experience for students.
