Students Exploring Gaming Institute at EKU

Students in the Media Arts Technology (MAT) program at the Laurel County Schools Center for Innovation (CFI) visited The Gaming Institute at Eastern Kentucky University (EKU) on Friday, April 14, 2017 to learn about the gaming design program, virtual reality systems, and video animation software.

Mr. Shane Smith, CFI instructor, indicated that interest in gaming and computer animations is very popular with his students.  “Our career pathways in the MAT program primarily focus on Videography, Cinematography, Photography, and Graphic Design, but we also want to expose students to various facets within the media industry.”

“EKU provides a significant opportunity for students to become successful in their chosen career path and we are pleased to have such a wonderful collaborative partnership with Eastern,” remarked Dr. James M. Davis, CFI Principal.
