Students at the Center for Innovation (CFI) are developing their creative capacities in their English Language courses. For example, in Ms. Deana Nantz’s English IV, AP Literature, and College English 101 classes the students created chance poems during the first week of school using magazines. “This creative writing exercise helps students better understand the spontaneity of writing poetry. Everyone has a message to share and it is important that everyone be provided the opportunity to participate in the recitation of his or her poem,” said Ms. Nantz.
“We always enjoy viewing student works in our English classes. Our English faculty provide students the exceptional opportunity to learn with and from one another, to explore their creative self, and to share expressions of positive psychology and emotional symbolism in words and images, remarked Dr. James Davis, CFI Principal.
