CFI Students Operating VEX Robotics

Students in the Engineering Technology program at the Laurel County Schools Center for Innovation (CFI) are exploring the development and utilization of VEX robotics.  Mrs. Chandra Lawson, Engineering Instructor, spoke of the value of robotics technology in advanced manufacturing and automation. “Modern industrial plants and retail fulfillment centers utilize robotics technology on an everyday production basis,” said Lawson.  Dr. James Davis, CFI Principal remarked, “our students are learning to design, fabricate, and operate robots which are increasingly important within the manufacturing and service industry sectors of the economy.”
