Family Reading Night and Author Signing

The Penny Loafer Mystery: A Kittie O'Blakely Story

Come and join us for a specail Family Reading Night Mystery Edition!

We will have Cold Hill's very own Melanie Callahan to do an author reading and signing of her new book The Penny Loafer Mystery: A Kittie O'Blakely Story.

Parents and students will be able to read and take Accelerated Reader tests, as well as, complete mystery theme activities for prize drawings!

Pre-K & Kindergarten: Wear a RED shirt

Summer Reading UPDATED

Join us for Summer Reading on Tuesdays in June and July from 10:00-12:00. There will be student activities, crafts, and door prizes. Students may read, check out books, and take Accelerated Reader tests. Points earned will count toward next year's grade-level reading goals!

**Please note that a child must be chaperoned by a parent/guardian.

June Dates: 6th, 15th, 20th

July Dates: 11th (New date), 18th

There will be NO Summer Reading on Thursday, July 13th

Attention ShowStoppers: Important Information

  • Please wear your Robin Hood costumes on Friday December 8th to school.
  • Dress Rehearsal will take place at 1pm on Friday...students only.
  • Please arrive back at CHES by 5:30 for the evening performace and report to the gym.
  • ShowStoppers ONLY will be permitted int he gym...no parents or family memebrs utnil SHOWTIME!
  • The doors will open at 5:55. The show will begin at 6pm

Boys and Girls Basketball Tryouts-4th/5th

Tryouts are scheduled to start on Monday, Sept. 11th.   Tryouts will be 5 days and the team will be announced on at the end of the 5 days. All tryouts and practices are closed to the public. Below is the tentative schedule for tryouts. I hope not to make any changes to the dates or times. Please be on time.

Spring Book Fair March 26-30

Our Spring Book Fair will be held March 26-30.

Students will visit the Book Fair during scheduled library class and checkout times.

Book Fair will be open late for Family Night March 29 during Parent Teacher Conferences 3:30-6:00.

This is a time set aside for book fair purchasing only and not for AR testing.

Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held on Thursday, October 26th from 3:30-5:30. You may sign up for an appointment with your child's teacher.

Cheerleading tryouts for 4th and 5th grade will take place Monday-Friday, September 11-15, 2017 from 3:30-4:30.

Tryouts will be closed to parents.

Students must have a current sports physical.

K-25, 1st-35, 2nd-45, 3rd-55, 4th-65 5th-75

AR deadline for the school year is April 27th for AR Point Clubs and Top Ten AR Earners for each grade level. (Date may change due to snow)

Red Ribbon Week Red Ribbon Week

Red Ribbon Week will be October 23rd-27th.  This week is to promote being drug free.  Each day students will be asked to dress a certain way to show their support for staying drug free.

*Monday --- Pajama Day --- Follow your dreams...don't do Drugs. Dress in your favorite pajamas.

*Tuesday --- Nerd Day --- Cubs are too smart for Drugs. Dress like a nerd.

*Wednesday --- Super Hero Day --- You have the Power to stay drug free. Dress like a super hero.

*Thursday --- 80's Day--- Be 80's cool and say no to drugs. Dress in your best 80's look.

*Friday --- Costume Day--- Scare off Drugs. Dress in your Halloween costume. No face masks or heavy make-up that will distract form learning.

Come out and meet the new members of the boys and girls basketball teams, as well as, the cheerleading squad. Show your Cold Hill Cub pride!   Tuesday, October 3th @ 6:00 in the gym.  Admission: $3.00 for adults and free to kids and staff.

Fundraiser Dinner from 5:00-6:30.  $5 per meal. Includes hot dog or Chili Dog, chips, drink, and dessert.

Silent Auction- 4:00-7:00 until end of Meet the Cubs
