Retired Laurel County educator Opal Sibert has been announced as a 2017 inductee into the Kentucky Teacher Hall of Fame. The Kentucky Teacher Hall of Fame was established in 2000 by late Governor Louie B. Nunn to recognize Kentuckians who have made a significant impact to the teaching profession.
Ms. Sibert began teaching in the Laurel County School system in 1957. She would work as a special education teacher until her retirement in 1986. During her tenure she taught at Colony, Johnson and Hazel Green schools.
A ceremony will be held in Frankfort on March 8th to recognize inductees. Join us in congratulating Ms. Opal Sibert on this achievement!
