SLHS Academic Team Travels to the Nation's Capital

Twenty-one South Laurel High School students visited our nation's capital.  The sites they saw included: Arlington Cemetery, tour of the Capital, Library of Congress. Smithsonian Museums, Supreme Court, United Holocaust Memorial Museum, War Memorials and National Mall monuments.  In this picture the capital is in the background and the students are fixing to tour the Library of Congress.

The second picture show the students inside the capital in front of the Ephraim McDowell statue-the famous KY doctor who a pioneered “abdominal surgical techniques, [and] perform[ed] the first ovariotomy in the United States in 1809.
