The Keavy Elementary Site Based Decision Making Council has selected Tonya Ford as their new Principal. Mrs. Ford comes to this position with 14 years’ experience in the Laurel County School system. She has worked the last 12 years as the Library/Media Specialist at Sublimity Elementary.
A graduate of Eastern Kentucky University, Mrs. Ford earned her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education, Master’s degree in Library Science and her Master’s degree in Educational Administration. Additionally, she is a graduate of the Laurel County School District Aspiring Administrators program and has received her National Board Teacher Certification.
Mrs. Ford looks forward to “this exciting opportunity to serve Keavy Elementary and the community. I want to ensure that Keavy Elementary is a safe environment that provides the best possible educational opportunities for our students. It is my desire to embrace this opportunity to provide a collaborative culture where students, parents, faculty, and staff can excel.”
Mrs. Ford is married to Devin Ford and they have three daughters, Hannah, Megan and Sarah. Mrs. Ford and her family are active members of Corinth Baptist Church and enjoy spending time on their family farm.
