This is a dual-credit course. Students have the chance to earn 3 credit hours for passing the University of the Cumberland's MATH-132 College Algebra course. For more information about this course, please see page 120 at http://www.ucumberlands.edu/downloads/academics/catalogs/undergraduate/2015-16.pdf.
The material is comparable to SLHS's Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 course. However, this course is only one semester in length. Therefore, the pace will be faster than what most student's are used to. The depth of the material will also increase. Students must hit the ACT benchmark in mathematics before enrolling in the course. Students must be able to pay a small enrollment fee to UC as well. Success in this course should aid students in raising their ACT math subscore.
