The Music Room is a place where every child at London Elementary School gets a chance to experience music by creating, performing, responding, and connecting. We sing, move, play instruments, and learn about music history and musical notation.
All students begin their musical experience with John Feiraband's First Steps in Music. They later move on to his Conversational Solfege Series. Learning is supplemented by Quaver's Marvelous World of Music, and Artie Almeida's Mallet Madness, Recorder Express, and Kidstix.
Mallet Madness continues for most grade levels this week. Ask your child what "shoulder holders" look like and when we use them. :)
2nd-5th grade students have been playing percussion instruments in our exciting Mallet Madness unit. Mallet Madness is an engaging Orff-based curriculum by renowned music teacher, Artie Almeida.
PK, K, & 1st have been creating, performing, responding, and connecting with John Feirabend's First Steps in Music curriculum.
We have been studying how to notate music and perform music by reading musical notation.
