This is an exciting year to be a Biology student in Kentucky. The state of KY (as well as 25 other states) has adopted a new set of standards for teaching science with an emphasis on performance skills and engineering. At the same time, we are still using the Quality Core End Of Course Assessment developed by ACT as our Spring Final Exam. This means we will cover a large amount of material this year and hopefully prepare you for subsequent high school science classes, college or the work force and the future.  Content covered includes Biology processes, Biochemistry, Cells, Genetics, Evolution, Ecology and Animal/Plant Systems.

Honor’s students are expected to be able to work independently and in small groups. To be successful they will learn over 450 science terms and phrases, the concepts related to those terms, and how to apply that knowledge to a variety of situations. There will be a focus on problem-solving and real-world application. The successful student will come to class prepared to participate and be willing to devote time outside of class to insure their understanding.

Unless notified otherwise, each time vocabulary are due there will be a vocabulary quiz.

  • EOC/final exam results!

Good job 2015 Despite the technical difficulties, you survived. No one scored less than a "c" .   19 A's,  20 B's, and 34 C's.  Well Done.
