Laurel County Preschool works in conjunction with Kentucky River Foothills Head Start Program to serve 3 and 4 year old children in our county. The preschool program operated by Laurel County Schools is income based. We can serve children who are 3 years old with a disability and 4 years old who qualify based on income. We can also take 4 year old children with a disability who are over the income level.
You will need to provide for your child the following doccuments:Original Certified Birth CertificateOriginal Social Security CardOriginal Valid Immunization CertificatePhysical Examination ReportEye Examination Report (from Optomitrist/opthamologist)You will also need to provide these additional doccuments:Verification of Income (current check stubs)Verification of Residence (correspondence mailed to your home)During the enrollment process you will be asked to complete the following doccuments:ApplicationResidence DirectionsHome Language SurveyConsent to Video/PhotographRelease of InformationCriminal Records CheckYour child will be given the DIAL IV screening. This is a battery of activities that will help flag any potential strengths and weaknesses your child may have. EVERY preschool and kindergarten child in our district will be given this evaluation.
