Touch-Typing Expectations


Students are learning to "Touch Type", which means that students learn to type using correct finger reaches to each keys.  Students are expected to use correct keyboarding techniques every day.

Correct Keyboarding Technique:

Sit up straight with back against back of chair.

Legs in front (not sitting sideways); body centered in middle of keyboard.

Feet flat on floor (no crossed legs, ankles, or feet wrapped around chair legs).

Fingers placed on home keys.

Keys typed with correct finger (as instructed when the key is introduced).

Students will find that following these instructions will produce better keying skills and increase productivity.
