Individual Learning Plan (ILP)

INDIVIDUAL LEARNING PLAN (ILP)

All students (grades 6-12) are required (by state law) to complete the ILP each year.  Each year, parents are also required to review their child's ILP (state law).  In order to comply with this law, sixth grade students will complete the ILP during their time in Keyboarding class.

The completed ILP will be graded (counts as one class assignment) and sent home for parents to review.  Parents are then requested to sign the ILP and return it to school as documentation that the parent has reviewed the ILP.

Students in sixth grade will be required to complete the following sections in the ILP:

  • Personal Profile
  • Educational History
  • Career Matchmaker
  • Careers that Interest Me
  • Career Cluster Interests
  • Hobbies and Interests
  • Awards and Recognitions
  • Annual Review
  • Annual Student Survey
As students complete the ILP, parents will be given the opportunity to be involved with this project by providing information to their child (Educational History and Awards & Recognitions) in order for their child to have the necessary information to complete the ILP.  Please help your child gather this information when the forms are sent home to be completed.  It will make it much easier for your child if the information is ready and available when this section is completed in class.

All parents have a "Parent Access" number.  This allows parents to view their child's ILP at any time.  Parents may obtain their access information by contacting Mrs. Kirby.  Requesting the parent access information will give parents an opportunity to help their child proofread and correct typographical and spelling errors before the final copy of the ILP is printed in class.
