Hello! Welcome to the Laurel County Center for Innovation.
I am the Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Biomedical Science Program instructor for the Center for Innovation. I hold a B.S. in Biotechnology from UK, a M.A. in Secondary Education, and Rank I in Educational Leadership from Union College.
PLTW is the nation’s leading provider of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) programs and is helping students develop the skills needed to succeed in the global economy. PLTW Biomedical Science courses here at the CFI will allow students to investigate the roles of biomedical professionals as they study the concepts of human medicine, physiology, genetics, microbiology, and public health by being immersed into case-based investigations and asked to investigate, document, and analyze evidence to solve those cases.
I look forward to the exciting possibilities at the CFI. My goal as the PLTW Biomedical Science instructor is to train my students to think in a real-world context; to take the content taught and use it to investigate, analyze, and solve problems with unique solutions; to think ‘outside the box’.
