I graduated from the University of the Cumberlands with a Bachelor's degree. Upon graduation I pursued a Masters degree from Union College while working in the Laurel county school system and coaching football. Early on in my career I taught Mathematics and English at SLHS. Over the years I was very fortunate to teach a wide variety of Mathematics courses including Honors Geometry and Honors Algebra. This is my second year as Principal at the McDaniel Learning Center. We have have had a very successful 2014-2015 school year including graduating 76 students and being recognized by the Kentucky Department of Education as an "2015 Alternative Program of Distinction." I am very proud of the efforts that our student and staff put in on a daily basis. I am very blessed to have this opportunity to make difference in many students' lives not only from one school but from every part of Laurel county.
I come from a long line of educators, my father and mother both work for school systems in Central Kentucky and other various family members are a part of the academic community from elementary school to post-secondary education. I come from a large family of five boys, Josh has a Computer Science degree from EKU, Jonathan has a degree from Campbellsville University in Pastoral Ministries. Jared and Jacob are both enrolled in a variety of college and career readiness courses at the high school level. I am very proud of all of their accomplishments. I am married to Kelly Kidd, the love of my life, we recently tied the knot this past year. She is a clinical counselor & a very successful business owner in the community. We also have a daughter, Katie, who is in second grade this year. She participates in a multitude of after school activities including: t-ball, soccer, dance and violin. During free time I enjoy traveling, exercising, particpating in sports and spending time with my wife, daughter and our puppy Samson.
