Attitude is Everything!

Keavy students watched a video in Arts & Humanities classes called Game Changer by Principal Kafele. His message to the youth was about having a positive attitude and that attitude is everything for 2019. Students discussed 5 words that Principal Kafele gave them to focus on including serious (be serious about your education), diligence (working hard), focus (laser sharp focus on learning), discipline (do what you are suppose to do without being told), and resilience (bouncing back when you fail).  Students also participated in an art and writing contest explaining why attitude is everything. Pictured are students from Miss Sizemore's 5th grade class as the overall winners and all other winners from various classes.

Appalachian Days At Keavy

We value our hertigage and ancestors and they way they grew up. From learning about musical instruments, food, & forging to learning about storytelling, games, and candlemaking, students had a glimpse of what it would be like to live at least 100 years ago in the Appalachian Mountain Area.  Thanks to all of our volunteers, teachers, and students for helping to make this day a success for our students. A special thanks to our Family Resource Center for helping to plan this event. We had such a wonderful day at Keavy Elementary learning about history. Click read more to see photos from this event.
