Congratulations Mrs. Callahan

London Elementary teacher, Melanie Callahan, has accepted an appointment to the Education Professional Standards Board (EPSB). The EPSB is responsible for setting the professional standards for preparation, certification, and responsible and ethical behavior of all professional educators in Kentucky.  Mrs. Callahan will work in the field of arts and humanities on behalf of teachers and The Kentucky Department of Education.  Mrs. Callahan will continue to serve as a fourth grade teacher at London Elementary School while honoring her 2-year term in Frankfort.

National Geographic Certified Educator at London Elementary


London Elementary third grade teacher, Mrs. Leslie Oliver recently received National Geographic Educator Certification, during the 2019-2020 Fall Cohort.   National Geographic Provides this free 20 hour professional development program “that recognizes pre-K through 12 formal and informal educators committed to inspiring the next generation of explorers, conservationists, and changemakers. These educators are part of a powerful movement to make the world a better place by empowering students to be informed decision-makers equipped to solve meaningful challenges in their communities and beyond. Don’t just teach students about the world—teach them how to change it.” Mrs. Oliver’s GT group completed “One Ocean: Pollution and Our Oceans” as part of this project and certification.  They have also been invited to join a “Junior Water Walkers” program through National Geographic.
