One-on-one video communication or phone calls between teacher and student (or teacher and parent with smaller children or students with special needs)
Group video communication or phone calls between the teacher and a whole class or between a teacher and smaller groups of students within a class

Students who do not participate for three (3) days without a valid excuse are considered truant. Students who do not participate for six (6) days without a valid excuse are considered habitually truant. Please refer to the Student Code of Acceptable Conduct and Discipline for full attendance policies.
Mrs. V, Virtual Learning Expectations:
Students are required to access Google Classroom and attend the Livestream Google Meet during their assigned class period.
Students will mute audio and video. Questions can be asked in the chat box or via email. Questions will be addressed before the end of class or by the end of the day.
Students must complete work in the same time frame provided to face-to-face students. Due dates will be the same.
Attendance will be taken during the Google Meet (see district policy highlighted above).
Students may use the chat box during the Google Meet to ask questions during the livestream or they may also email me from a Laurel County student email address with questions. If you have an immediate need, you must be in the Google Meet.
Only emails sent from a Laurel County Schools email address will receive responses due to FERPA.
School year 2020-21 is year is going to be different than any year we have had. Let's all practice patience and kindness as we navigate this school year. I encourage parents and students alike to reach out to me with any questions or issues--I am always happy to help.
Google Classroom is where we will "have" class. You must log in daily. Your Google Classroom Code will be emailed to your Laurel County student email account on the first day of school.
My expectations are that you do the best that you can and I will too. Together we can accomplish so much! With lots of unknowns heading into a new school year, it is so important that we communicate and problem solve together. I am here for you and will do what I can to help make this year successful!
