Selena Vaughn Vaughn - Bush Elementary School

My name is Selena Vaughn and I am the library media specialist at Bush Elementary School. I am married to Dale Vaughn and have two daughters, MaKayla and Morgan. If you know me, you know that I am very proud of my family!

I have been an educator for twenty-two years now and have spent the last 6 years as a librarian. This is my 6th year at Bush and I can honestly say that I love what I do. In fact, the nicest thing a student has ever said to me was, "Mrs. Vaughn...you always have a smile on your face." It means so much to know that my students know that I am happy and I care about them.

The mission of our media center is to help students and staff members effectively use ideas and information. My goal as a media specialist is to create a learning environment that supplements curriculum so that students may learn at high levels, and most importantly, help my students develop a life-long passion for reading.

The best part of my day is when I get to read to my students. I absolutley love it when they ask, "Are you going to read to us today?" In fact, the best educational advice I can give any parent is to simply read to your kids. It will truly make a difference!

Last but certainly not least, our library is definitely NOT a boring place...HAPPY READING!!!
