i-Ready

i-Ready logo Our school has purchased a computer-based program for your child to use at home to help them in the areas that they are the weakest in. The program allows your child to start at their own level and progress to more challenging tasks as they work. We are offering an incentive to all students who complete the requirements for their specific grade level.  It may seem like a lot, but when you break it down it is around 30 minutes a day.  We all know our kids spend 30+ a day on a computer/tablet/i-pad.  If your child spends their allotted time PLUS get a passing grade (80% or better on their own lessons), your child will receive a free shaved ice at the end of the month. The program counts the minutes of “on task” time.  In other words, time isn’t counted just because your child is logged in the program.  The program has several things for your child to be completing and learning, that is how it knows how many minutes your child is learning. It is our wish  that we have to buy every single child a shaved ice every single month! Not only will your child be getting a shaved ice, but they will be learning at the point where they are weakest and building to be a stronger student!

PAT is a parent education program offered by Colony and Hazel Green Family Resource Centers. Our PAT, Betty Rush, serves families who are expecting a child or have children under the age of Kindergarten. A Parent Educator provides home-visits with families to promote early learning, knowledge and understanding of child development. Parent Educators also assist in building a partnership between families, schools and community resources. To sign up for our PAT program, please call Colony FRC at 862-4642 or Hazel Green FRC at 862-4650.
