Preschool Registration Information and Screening Dates

SIGN ME UP, PLEASE!

The Laurel County School District and The Prep Academy have announced screening dates for children turning age four on or before August 1, 2021, who are eligible and wish to enter preschool in the fall 2021. 

Kentucky's preschool education programs are available for all four-year-old children whose family income is no more than 160% of poverty and all three and four-year-old children with developmental delays and disabilities, regardless of income.  CLICK HERE TO VIEW THE 2021 Poverty Guidelines.

Parents must make an appointment for the screening by calling Michele Prichard/Annie Hurley at 862-4608. Parents must schedule their child for a screening on the date established for the school district where their child resides. See below.

•        April 16th and May 3rd at Hunter Hills Elementary School- Screenings on these dates and at this location are for students who reside in the Camp Ground, Hunter Hills and Keavy school districts—Appointments are available from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Please call Annie Hurley for an appointment.

•          April 16th and May 3rd at Wyan Pine Grove Elementary School- Screenings on these dates and at this location are for students who reside in the Cold Hill, Sublimity and Wyan Pine Grove school districts—Appointments are available from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Please call Annie Hurley for an appointment.

•          April 23rd and April 30th at Bush Elementary School- Screenings on these dates and at this location are for students who reside in the Bush, Johnson and Hazel Green school districts—Appointments are available from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Please call Michele Prichard for an appointment.

•          April 23rd and April 30th at London Elementary School- Screenings on these dates and at this location are for students who reside in the Colony and London school districts—Appointments are available from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Please call Michele Prichard for an appointment.

Individuals who arrive without an appointment will be able to register only after those with appointments have been accommodated.

 

All participants must bring the following items with them to their appointment:

1.         Current proof of income. (Current Pay Stubs, no tax returns will be accepted)

2.         Current proof of residence (Electric or water bill in your name)

3.         An up-to-date immunization certificate (on latest Kentucky Form with an expiration date)

4.         A current physical exam on the current Kentucky Form.

5.         The Child’s Certified Birth Certificate (issued by the state where born)

6.         A current vision exam on the current Kentucky Form (conducted by an eye doctor)
