SLHS FFA Members Find Success at the KY State Fair

SLHS FFA KY State Fair

Congratulations to three South Laurel High School Future Farmers of America (FFA) members on their success during the Kentucky State Fair!
Senior Emma McDonald
Emma McDonald participated in the Kentucky State Fair with her rabbits and lambs. Emma finished in a three-person tie with a perfect Showmanship score in the Senior division with rabbits. After the tiebreakers, she placed 3rd overall, 2nd place with her Junior Doe, and 2nd place with her Senior Buck Rabbits.  Emma earned 6th place in Breeding Sheep Showmanship and 5th place in the Market Showmanship class. 
Sophomore Autumn Howard
Autumn Howard participated in the FFA Seed ID contest at the Kentucky State Fair. Autumn placed 15th in the State with her knowledge of seeds and seed tags.
Freshmen Makayla Massey
Makayla Massey won Grand Champion Limousin Steer at the Kentucky State Fair!  Makayla earned Reserve Division Champion with her two Limousin Heifers and Division Champion with her Angus Heifer. She also placed 3rd in Showmanship with her heifer and 5th with her steer.
