HCI - April

Hey guys I sure miss seeing all your sweet faces at school.  I know having school at home is just not the same as being with your teachers and friends.  Hopefully you are finding some fun ways to incorporate some new learning while you are also completing your work that your teachers are giving you!  I have exciting news for those of you that have a computer, tablet or iPad at home.  Quaver Music has opened up their site so you can continue to learn and explore the Quaver Music World while at home.

For those with internet access at home:

Log in to your account at least once a week and explore the Quaver World of Music!  Learn about a famous composer, a different genre (style) of music, create some music of your own, etc.  Just have fun and enjoy this free resource.

For those without internet access at home:

If you don’t have internet access, choose one activity per week while we are out of school.  One activity is due at the end of each week.

  1. Make your own instrument:     (A) Shakers are easy and fun!  (B) Paper towel tubes make great BoomWhackers

  2. Listen to songs that were popular when your parents or grandparents were your age!  Try to identify some instruments you hear.

  3. Do some bucket drumming to your favorite song.  Explore different sounds you can make with your bucket and sticks.

  4. Body Percussion Challenge – challenge someone at home to mimic your body percussion: Example - You can (snap, clap, and stomp) your challenger must repeat what you just did!  Take turns being the leader and challenger.

  1. Challenge someone in your house to a dance off!  Just be glad Mrs. Smith isn’t there!!!

Hope to see you soon,

Mrs. Elmore
