Former CFI Student Becomes a Registered Nurse

Former Laurel County Schools Center for Innovation (CFI) student Jordan Patterson graduated from Lincoln Memorial University’s Caylor School of Nursing with an Associate of Science Degree in Nursing. Jordan successfully completed the Kentucky Board of Nursing licensure exam for Registered Nurse (RN).

Jordan credits his diverse learning experiences at the CFI with helping to inspire and encourage him to achieve his goals. He shared that, “the classroom and lab experiences, the hospital and bedside care simulations, the Anatomage Table, and wonderful mentors gave me the upper hand going into the college-level nursing program.” Mr. Ed Bowling, Instructor of Allied Health Science (AHS) at the CFI, indicated that Jordan was an exceptional student, readily learned health sciences, and expected such success from his former student.

Jordan is now gainfully employed as a Registered Nurse with Baptist Health in Corbin in the Med-Surg Unit. He plans to continue his education to earn the BSN degree as well as earn his Master’s Degree to become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). Dr. James M. Davis, CFI Principal, spoke highly of Jordan having a positive work ethic, a very pleasant personality disposition, and exclaimed great pride in the former student’s success! “Jordan was an exemplar student and served as a CFI Student Ambassador helping to share program information with guests and students that visited the CFI,” said Davis. Davis further proclaimed that “our slogan of being a “school of opportunity” is not just jargon, but it is who we are and what we do at the CFI.”  #AimHighCFI
