Thank You with a Heart

To our incredible community members, educational partners, and businesses, it's been over a month since an F4 tornado impacted our community, and we're still navigating the path to recovery. The impact on our school district was immense, with over 40 employees either completely losing their homes or experiencing severe damage, and countless students and their families deeply affected.

Yet, amidst this profound challenge, we've witnessed an extraordinary outpouring of love and encouragement. Your charity, through financial assistance and tireless volunteer efforts, has been a show of support and hope. From the volunteers who have dedicated numerous hours to clean-up, served nourishing meals, and delivered essential provisions to the many educational partners and businesses that provided services to our district, extended monetary donations, and provided much-needed supplies, your kindness has made an immeasurable difference.

These contributions aren't just immediate relief; they're a vital investment in both the short-term and long-term recovery for students, their families, and our employees as they begin to navigate this new normal. We are extremely grateful for every act of generosity, every helping hand, and every message of support.

Laurel County Public Schools would like to express our sincere gratitude to our local and state officials, as well as our first responders and emergency personnel, for their tireless work and coordinated efforts in helping our community recover and rebuild. We are committed to working in partnership to move our community forward throughout the rebuilding process.

During the summer, we will continue supporting our students and their families, as our Family Resource and Youth Service Center and other school personnel will continue to check in and coordinate needed resources. We are Laurel County Schools Strong!
