Laurel County Public Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Jaline Jackson as the new Principal of the Laurel County Schools Center for Innovation (CFI). Ms. Jackson has 18 years of experience and most recently served as Director of the McDaniel Learning Center (MLC) for three years.
Ms. Jackson's educational background includes roles as a Family and Consumer Sciences teacher, school counselor, educational diagnostician, and administrator. Before leading MLC, she served as a Guidance Counselor for both MLC and CFI, building strong collaborative ties with district leadership, North Laurel High School, and South Laurel High School. Ms. Jackson's foundation in Family and Consumer Sciences offers deep insight into Career and Technical Education (CTE) programming. After the MLC program relocated to the CFI facility last year, Ms. Jackson partnered with administration to promote an environment built on high expectations.
Ms. Jackson has a strong academic background in student support and administrative leadership. She earned a bachelor's degree in Family and Consumer Sciences Education from the University of Kentucky and a master's degree in School Guidance Counseling from Morehead State University. She also completed an Education Specialist degree in School Guidance Counseling at the University of the Cumberlands, an endorsement in Individual Intellectual Assessment from Murray State University, and an Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Eastern Kentucky University.
"Education is my passion, especially reaching students who need a different avenue to success through their educational experiences," said Jackson. "I am honored to have the opportunity to lead the Center for Innovation and McDaniel Learning Center. Both programs recognize that success does not look the same for every student. My goal is to build upon the strong work already happening at both schools, support our staff, and expand the opportunities available to all of our students. I want every student who enters CFI or MLC to know that their future matters, that success is possible, and that we will work alongside them to help them find the path that is right for them."
Outside of her busy work schedule, Ms. Jackson enjoys spending time with her family, cheering on her children at their sporting events, and relaxing at home with her four puppies.
