Student and staff safety is Laurel County Public Schools' top priority. The district leadership team is actively working to develop a potential plan for moving to virtual instruction as soon as possible, and we hope for a quick return to in-person instruction as soon as deemed safe to do so. The Laurel County Public Schools Police Department and district administration are actively communicating with local law enforcement to assess the situation and make an informed decision about resuming school activities. We continue to express our gratitude to all law enforcement and emergency response teams for their ongoing efforts to ensure the safety of our community.
An announcement regarding school cancellation for Wednesday, September 11, will be made later today. Please stay tuned for further updates on this matter.
